The Bourbon Street BSR-1C-N 'Style 0' Resonator Guitar is a superb instrument that pays homage to the classic resonator guitars known for their distinctive tone and volume. Resonator guitars, also referred to as resophonic guitars, were initially created to provide sufficient volume in dance orchestras where regular acoustic guitars were easily overpowered by horns and percussion instruments. By conducting string vibrations through a spun aluminium cone (resonator) instead of the guitar's soundboard, resonator guitars gained recognition for their loud and unique sound. Although electric amplification eventually addressed the volume issue, resonator guitars found a new place in genres such as bluegrass and the blues.

Bourbon Street, a small boutique manufacturer specialising in steel guitar design and innovation, presents the BSR-1C-N as more than just a tribute to those revered guitars. Despite its mid-priced range, this instrument punches well above its weight, rivaling more expensive counterparts.

The BSR-1C-N boasts a Bell Brass body with a polished nickel finish, providing an attractive aesthetic. Its hand-spun Continental aluminium cone contributes to the guitar's characteristic tone, blending tradition with modern manufacturing techniques. The guitar also features a comfortable round mahogany neck and a Blackwood Tek fretboard, ensuring a pleasant playing experience. With 14 frets to the body, the guitar offers good access to higher registers on the fingerboard.

Equipped with a punchy single-coil passive pickup, the BSR-1C-N allows you to amplify its distinctive resonator sound as desired. The pickup includes volume and tone controls for easy adjustment.

The guitar incorporates antique geared tuners, ensuring precise and reliable tuning stability. It features a 2-way adjustable truss rod, allowing for optimal neck adjustments to suit individual preferences.

With a scale length of 25 1/2 inches (65.3 cm) and a fingerboard width of 1 13/16 inches (46mm) at the nut, the BSR-1C-N provides a comfortable playing experience suitable for various playing styles. Included with the instrument is a hard bag, providing protection and convenience for transportation.

The Bourbon Street BSR-1C-N 'Style 0' Resonator Guitar combines classic design elements with modern manufacturing techniques, delivering outstanding tone and playability. Its meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail make it a remarkable instrument in its price range, offering the opportunity to explore the expressive and distinctive qualities of resonator guitars in a highly satisfying package.
